Fruits and veggies that are rich in potassium help your body to regulate sodium. As a result, they will decrease your salt-related bloating.  Good examples of fruit high in potassium include…

  • Bananas

  • Kiwis

  • Oranges

  • Avocados

Asparagus

Asparagus is one of my favourite anti-bloating super foods. Asparagus has a diuretic effect and helps to flush out excess water weight.   Asparagus also helps your body maintain a healthy digestive system, as it contains fiber and probiotics.

Lemon

Warm lemon water has a variety of health benefits, with anti-bloating being just one of those effects. Lemons are great for the digestive tract and for a boost of vitamin C. Try drinking a cup of warm lemon water every morning to reap all of the benefits of this wonderful drink all throughout the day.

Papaya

Papaya contains an enzyme called papain that makes digestion easier. Papain is a natural laxative and helps contribute to healthy bowel movements. Papaya also have anti-inflammatory effects on the digestive tract.

Pineapple

Pineapple is another fruit that works wonderfully to aid your body’s digestion tract.  Pineapple contains the enzyme bromelain.  This helps your body to break down protein, improving digestion and decreasing bloating.

Yogurt

Yogurt is high in probiotics and works wonders for maintaining a healthy digestive tract. This works to decrease bloating. You can also try taking a high quality probiotic supplement for the same effect.

Peppermint Tea

Peppermint tea has a natural way of soothing the stomach and decreasing bloating. Peppermint has relaxant and antispasmodic properties in order to relieve cramping in the GI tract. The next time you find yourself with an upset stomach or terribly bloated, try sipping some peppermint tea.

Cucumber

Cucumbers have powerful detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties. Cucumbers will help flush your body of unwanted toxins and decrease any inflammation in the GI tract, therefore decreasing your bloating.

Ginger

Ginger is another super food when it comes to the GI tract. Ginger works wonders to decrease bloating and to ease nausea and upset stomachs. Ginger relaxes muscles in the digestive tract and it has anti-inflammatory properties.
